Pedal away for better liver health!

Whether you’re hooked to your saddle, never tried it before or would like to pedal more, taking on a cycling challenge is a true motivational way to take up this great exercise and raise sponsorship for the Trust.

There are many events across the country; however, we highly recommend these well organised and popular annual events:

**Covid-19 Update - As it stands at the end of March 2020, the events listed below are due to be going ahead as scheduled. If you're interested but not sure, do keep an eye on the event websites. We will endeavour to update this page as soon as we have any updates.

London to Brighton Bike Ride – Sunday 13th September 2020

Take on this iconic 55 mile ride from city to the countryside and you won’t be short of views. The registration fee is £50, which includes a fully supported ride with free lunch and mechanical support. You can find out more and register via the London to Brighton website, just make sure you click ‘Cycle for a Charity’ when registering and click ‘British Liver Trust’ in the drop down list!

Supporter Peter took on this challenge in 2018 and had an amazing time:

“We arrived at the finish line at just after three, having left London at around half past eight in the morning. All of us managed the whole ride - no walking up Ditchling Beacon here - and we managed pretty much exactly the pace that we were hoping for.

I've been overwhelmed by the support that everyone has shown us … This sort of money will make a real difference to the British Liver Trust, thank you everyone”

Prudential Ride 46 - Sunday 16th August

The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey comprises a spectacular 46-mile route on traffic-free roads, beginning at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in east London.

The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 46 is still a challenge but it is much more of an introduction to cycling on traffic-free roads and it’s a wonderful way to ride your first sportive.

If you would be interested in applying for one of our charity places, please email fundraising@britishlivertrust.org.uk for further information.

Or perhaps you fancy going the further distance?

Each year we have supporters take on the epic London to Paris or Amsterdam bike rides, including Peter and Neil.

They completed the London to Amsterdam bike challenge in 2018 in memory of Hayley, Peter’s wife and Neil’s daughter-in-law. Together they raised over £2,500:

"We made it, such an emotional end but we did it. I couldn't have done it without my amazing Dad, & with everything that's gone on recently it's an amazing achievement for us both.

“What an amazing two days cycling In memory of my beautiful late wife Hayley, cycling from London to Amsterdam - mine and Hayley's first holiday destination.

“We met some amazing people on the ride, all of them with their own stories & reasons for trying to raise money for their chosen charities - well done to them all!"
